Social Skills Training to Reduce Depression in Adolescents.
Reed, Michael K.
Adolescence, v29 n114 p293-302 Sum 1994
Evaluated efficacy of Structured Learning Therapy (SLT), which focuses on developing social competencies, self-evaluation skills, and appropriate affective expression, in treating adolescent depression. Findings from 18 adolescents randomly assigned to either SLT treatment or control group suggest that SLT reliably reduced depression in males and maintained their improved level of functioning. Female treatment subjects did not improve significantly. (Author/NB)
