Trustee Quarterly, v10 n1-4 Win 1985-1986-Fall 1986
These four issues of "ACCT Trustee Quarterly" contain articles on topics of current concern to community college trustees. The first issue contains articles on strategic long-range planning, successful chairman of the board techniques, linkages between community colleges and business and industry, board/president relations, performance appraisals of presidents, special interest board members, and board retreats. Articles in the second issue focus on actual and desired roles of trustees of the North Carolina community college system, collaboration with government and private agencies and special interest groups, board-president relations, budget issues and the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act, board retreats, merit pay and faculty evaluation, minority trustee perspectives, and the new "critical thinking" movement. The third issue covers international education; cooperation among secondary, two-year, and four-year institutions; a case study of Prairie State College's use of Association of Community College Trustees' (ACCT's) Interim President Service and Chief Executive Search Service; educational quality; the role of community and technical colleges in the future of the southern United States; role perceptions of Pennsylvania community college trustees; and the history of worker education. Finally, the fourth issue presents articles on coping with change, public-private cooperation in providing student housing, curriculum offerings, employment rights and working conditions, the increased influence of women on community college boards, and trustee-president relations.
