Addressing Personal Issues in Supervision: Impact of Counselors' Experience Level on Various Aspects of the Supervisory Relationship.
Sumerel, Marie B.; Borders, L. Dianne
Counselor Education and Supervision, v35 n4 p268-86 Jun 1996
In this study, entry-level and advanced counselors (N=40) rated videotaped supervision sessions in which either the counselor's personal issues or skills deficits were addressed. The study's goal was to determine the impact that addressing counselors' personal issues in supervision has on relationship, quality of the session, postsession mood, and interactional style of the supervision, as reported by counselors.
