Elder Abuse by Adult Children: An Applied Ecological Framework for Understanding Contextual Risk Factors and the Intergenerational Character of Quality of Life.
Schiamberg, Lawrence B.; Gans, Daphna
International Journal of Aging and Human Development, v50 n4 p329-59 2000
Using an applied ecological model, this study focuses on contextual risk factors of elder abuse. Five levels of environment were used to interpret existing research on risk factors. Configuration of risk factors provides a framework for understanding the intergenerational character of quality of life for older adults, developing recommendations for empirically-based research, and development of intervention and prevention strategies.
