Stewardship is the responsibility of individuals to maintain and improve their natural resources and surroundings. The Forest Stewardship Program (FSP) in North Carolina aims at enhancing the management of all forest resources on private lands. This activity guide is designed to help youth appreciate and understand forests and natural surroundings. It contains easy to follow classroom and outdoor activities that link youth to the forest using the topic areas of soil and water, wildlife, trees, recreation, and natural beauty to develop the concept of stewardship.
