Exercise Against Depression.
Artal, Michal; Sherman, Carl
Physician and Sportsmedicine, v26 n10 p55-60 Oct 1998
Physical activity is useful for preventing and easing depression symptoms. When prescribing exercise as an adjunct to medication and psychotherapy, physicians must consider each patient's individual circumstances. Hopelessness and fatigue can make physical exercise difficult. A feasible, flexible, and pleasurable program has the best chance for success. Walking, alone or in a group, is often a good option.
