This six-part report describes the recently developed 5-year strategic plan of action for Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC), reviewing the mission and goals of the college, stating 21 organizational objectives in order of priority, and detailing implementation activities for each of the 5 years of the plan. Part I provides a brief description of CNCC, its location, and the local area served. Part II presents the background to the strategic planning process. Part III details changes in CNCC's organizational structure, program offerings, mission statements, and enrollment patterns for the years 1962 to 1989; and provides detailed enrollment statistics for the years 1972 to 1989. Part IV discusses the procedure through which faculty and staff contributed to the development of the plan. Part V describes the future direction and usability of the 5-year plan. It lists 15 initial key components that were identified to guide the further development of the plan, including in order of priority financial stability, students, quality, personnel, growth, accreditation, community and regional service, assessment and analysis of CNCC, institutional survival, maintenance of a learning enterprise, public image, physical plant and capital improvement, facilities and area utilization, organizational unification, and multi-culturality. Part V also discusses the structure of the strategic plan. Finally, part VI presents the strategic plan itself. Subsections of the plan consist of the mission, goals, organizational objectives, potential strategies, policies, roles, programs, and structures for CNCC. (JMC)
