Callis, Robert; Tripp, A. – Journal of College Student Personnel, 1972
Two brief articles address the question of ACPA's relationship to its parent organization APGA. Callis' remarks urge that ACPA remain a division of APGA while Tripp's reflections urge that times have changed and with them, the opportunities to serve the college student, which might better be met by ACPA as an independent organization. Examined perceptions of men and women doctoral students (N=481) about issues doctoral students face. Women students perceived less support from faculty than did men. Women also reported conflict in attempting to integrate their personal and professional life roles. Discusses women's needs for role models and a supportive school environment. (BH)

Introductory sociology students (N=107) and early childhood students (N=124) were compared as to their reasons for having children. The early childhood majors' responses were often significantly more negative than those of the sociology majors. Results indicated increasing conflicts between career and parenting roles. (Author/RC)
