There is a national increase in the deferred maintenance of colleges and universities in the United States. The resulting deterioration represents a threat to the capability of higher education facilities to support mission of the colleges and universities they house. A series of questions concerning what the problems are and how they can be solved are answered. Ten steps to prevent deferred maintenance are highlighted. (RE)
