Identity Formation Re-revisited: A Rejoinder to Waterman on Developmental and Cross-Cultural Issues.
Meeus, W.; Iedema, J.; Vollebergh, W.
Developmental Review, v19 n4 p480-96 Dec 1999
Examines similarities and differences between American and Dutch research on identity formation and psychological well-being in adolescent and young adults. Concludes that identity development is systematically progressive and may be described with the trajectory diffusion?closure/moratorium?achieving commitment. Age differences are found in the trajectories, but not the mechanisms of identity development. (Author/KB)
