This document brings together four invited papers by external students who have graduated from Riverina College: (1) "The External Student: One Profile" (Christine Del Gigante); (2) "Managing Life as a External Student" (Robert Landow); (3) "The Computerised Student" (John Chant); and (4) "The Right to Study" (Coral Davidson). Topics covered include problems relating to tiredness, social life, and textbooks; overcoming these and other obstacles; support from colleagues and family; successful management techniques for external students; and the motivations of external students. The papers from students with varied interests and backgrounds, together with editor's commentary, offer an overview of life as an external student. (MES)
