A Project to Help Child Development Students Recognize Piagetian Developmental Stages.
Husmann, Ann
This practicum report was designed to help child development students differentiate between the preoperational and concrete operational stages of the Piagetian cognitive hierarchy. The 36 on-campus and 63 instructional television students used a Piagetian Game booklet, which is included in the appendix. Using this booklet, students were able to compare their observations and their subjects' responses to a checklist of characteristics typical of preoperational and concrete operational thought. Students used the booklet successfully and were generally enthusiastic about the practicum. A 35-item reference list and five appendices are included. (PCB)
