Why Is Sexual Abuse Declining? A Survey of State Child Protection Administrators.
Jones, Lisa M.; Finkelhor, David; Kopiec, Kathy
Child Abuse & Neglect: The International Journal, v25 n9 p1139-58 Sep 2001
Interviews were conducted with child protection administrators in 43 states. More than half in states with large declines of cases of substantiated sexual abuse were unaware of any discussion of the declines within their agency or state. Possible causes for decline included increased evidentiary requirements and increased caseworker caution. (Contains references.) (CR)
