The Counselor and Negotiations.
National Education Association, Washington, DC. National Association of School Counselors.
This handbook serves as a guide to counselors in helping them reinforce and/or change the image of the school counselor. It suggests the necessity for the counselor's becoming an active member in the negotiating unit of his school district's Teacher's Association, and lists many activities which will make the school and community aware of the counselor and what he can contribute. The guide includes a lengthy section on negotiating techniques. In addition, it contains a five-page job description for counselors, a discussion of layoffs and how to handle the problems that result from them, as well as an explanation of C.A.T., Counselor Alert Team.
