How Do Black Graduate Social Work Students Benefit from a Course on Institutional Racism?
Carter, Louis H.
Journal of Education for Social Work, v14 n3 p27-33 Fall 1978
The benefits of a course on American racism for Black graduate social work students are discussed. It is suggested that their personal experiences of oppression and social alienation provide an impetus to use the present to counteract attitudinal/institutional White racism, and that feelings about the past can offer insight to affect social change.
