A Response to Gazzaniga: Language in the Right Hemisphere, Convergent Perspectives.
Zaidel, Eran
American Psychologist, v38 n5 p542-46 May 1983
Gazzaniga argues that without language right hemisphere cognition is vastly limited and that most normal right hemispheres have no language and only "rudimentary cognition." These assertion ignore important nonlinguistic observations, as well as findings with hemispheric sodium amytal anesthesia and laterality effects for complex cognitive tasks in the normal brain.
