Activities for Students: Biology as a Source for Algebra Equations--The Heart

The high school course that integrated first year algebra with an introductory environmental biology/anatomy and physiology course, in order to solve algebra problems is discussed. Lessons and activities for the course were taken by identifying the areas where mathematics and biology content intervenes may help students understand biology concepts and also enriches students' learning of both.
