In this article, the authors share their individual and connected experiences--as a youth writer, a workshop facilitator, and the program director--of writing together in a community-engaged writing project in efforts to support the civically engaged activist work of youth writers. The authors draw on their personal narratives and conversations to share an example of what happened when a youth writer called for social action and change, when her call was heard by supportive adults in her community, and when her writing contributed to moving forward a school reform agenda.
