This document presents a report of the education and prevention activities recognizing National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness (NCAA) Week undertaken at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan during October and early November, 1987. It begins with a brief review of the university's campus-wide programs, goals, and activities to reduce alcohol abuse and other drug use. NCAA Week activities that were sponsored are reviewed, focusing on how they were implemented to encourage participation, the level of participation in the activities, program evaluations, and long-term results/impact of the week's activities. The report concludes with a summary of the planned alcohol and other drug education activities for the remainder of the academic year. Relevant materials are appended, including letters of support for the activities, flyers and advertisments, newspaper and magazine articles, memorandums, brochures, and newsletters. (NB)
