Aging Women and Their Children with Chronic Disabilities: Perceptions of Sibling Involvement and Effects on Well-Being.
Pruchno, Rachel A.; And Others
Family Relations, v45 n3 p318-26 Jul 1996
Questioned 838 aging mothers of children with disabilities to describe the functional and affective relationships characterizing disabled and nondisabled siblings. Mothers reported that nondisabled offspring provided little functional assistance to their disabled siblings but that affective relationships between their children were characterized by strong, close ties.
