Effective Leadership in Catholic Colleges and Universities
Julius, Daniel J.
Current Issues in Catholic Higher Education, v24 n2 p53-82 Fall 2005
This paper endeavors to explore effective and influential behavior for leaders in Catholic Colleges and Universities and, as well, considers whether there is a distinctive style of management necessary for executives in Catholic institutions. An attempt is made to discuss the unique environment in which Catholic academic leaders operate. Characteristics of the decisional milieu in Catholic institutions are contrasted with those normally found in non-catholic Colleges and Universities. Behaviors and styles deemed effective for Catholic leaders are explored as are strategic decision-making imperatives.
