Groundbreaking Investigator of Creativity: An Interview with James C. Kaufman

This article presents an interview with James C. Kaufman, an associate professor of psychology at the California State University at San Bernardino, where he directs the Learning Research Institute. Kaufman received his PhD in cognitive psychology from Yale University in 2001. Dr. Kaufman's research broadly focuses on nurturing and encouraging creativity. Kaufman is the author or editor of 17 books either published or in press. He is a founding coeditor of the official journal for the American Psychological Association's Division 10, "Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts". He is the associate editor of "Psychological Assessment" and the "Journal of Creative Behavior." He is also the editor of the "International Journal of Creativity and Problem Solving" and the series editor of the Psych 101 series from Springer Publishing. In this interview, Dr. Kaufman discusses what prompted him to study creativity and describes the best way to measure creativity.
