From the point of view of their age, student science societies and special-interest circles are among the most venerable forms of corporate association among students in colleges and universities. In this article, the author traces the formation of different societies and special-interest circles by college students in different universities in Russia. Among other things, the author discusses the effect brought about by the Russian Revolution to these societies and special-interest circles.
