An update of the University of California, Irvine, Student Affirmative Action (SAA) plan is presented for 1985-1986. SAA activities planned by both academic and administrative units are covered, such as activities designed to: stimulate greater student involvement, establish clearer life goals and career linkages, enhance cultural awareness, and improve mach and science skills. The following types of units are covered: academic units, academic retention units, outreach units, and student life units. This volume contains an assessment sheet for 1984-1985 SAA activities from the 11 academic and 22 administrative units that are included in the plan. These assessments represent internal evaluations of SAA efforts undertaken during the 1984-1985 academic year. For each unit, charts provide information on program activities that either occurred are planned, as well as program objectives, target groups, and anticipated and unanticipated outcomes. (SW)
