Middle School Journal, v48 n4 p13-26 2017
The purpose of this study was to understand how schools address two specific criteria of the Schools to Watch® (STW) program: Social equity and developmental responsiveness. Descriptions of replicable practices, program/school characteristics, and initiatives created by each of the STW sites in Pennsylvania were analyzed. The data also includes narratives written by the school team, self-study rubrics, student achievement and discipline data, and evaluations from state reviewers including schools' successes and suggestions for further improvement. Analysis of data from the two criteria suggests that a revision of the 18-year-old rubric may be warranted.
