Designed to supplement a basic life science or biology program, this document provides teachers with experiential learning activities dealing with the human body. The learning activities vary in the length of time needed for their completion, and require a minimum of equipment and materials. The activities focus on: (1) the human skeleton; (2) systems of the human body; (3) the relationship of certain tissues to specific organs; (4) basic concepts of blood and blood-related diseases; (5) the various sensory capabilities relating to touch, hearing, tasting, smelling, and seeing; (6) a virus invasion of a bacterial cell; (7) the nervous system (including a brain "map"); (8) human nutrition and the foods we eat; and (9) the leading causes of death. Included are reproducible handouts, quizzes, self-checks, and an answer key. (TW)
