The Registrar: A Profession
Coffmann, Lotus Delta
College and University, v91 n2 p31-36 Jul 2016
Lotus D. Coffman became the fifth president of the University of Minnesota in 1920 and served in that role until 1938. Two new colleges were established under his tenure: General College offering two-year degrees and University College, intended for students whose academic needs were not being met by other existing colleges. This article provides a reprint of an address given by Coffman at the 1926 annual meeting of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars, which was published in the "Bulletin of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars" (p154-168) the same year. With the exception of a few minor edits, the text is in its original form.
