CHOICE (Considering Honest Options in Career Exploration).
Langford, Carolyn
The Considering Honest Options in Career Exploration (CHOICE) program is a career decision-making plan designed to assist counselors and teachers in helping high school juniors and seniors develop specific written career plans that they can implement after high school. This guide includes an overview of CHOICE and three CHOICE learning modules. The introductory section explains the purpose of CHOICE, its objectives, the results or benefits that can be expected from using the program, considerations in planning a CHOICE program and in selecting personnel, and lists of facilities and supplies required when implementing the program. The first module, on self-appraisal, deals with values, goals, interests, aptitudes and abilities, and personality types. Postsecondary education and training, labor force, and military training options are examined in the plan of action module. The third module, which covers employability skills, includes sections on job leads, application forms, letters of application, resumes, and employment interviews. Each module includes instructional text and student activities. (MN)
