What to Ask--and Not to Ask--in Your Interview
Jenkins, Rob
Chronicle of Higher Education, v58 n25 2012
As both a serial search-committee member and an occasional job seeker, the author has observed that one of the most awkward parts of a standard academic interview often comes at the end, when the committee chair asks the candidate if he or she has any questions. During an interview, the questions candidates ask may be as important as those they answer. The author's experiences have given him a pretty good feel for which questions work in an interview and which ones should probably be avoided. In this article, he offers some idea of what types of questions one might want to prepare.
