Bright Lights: Stories of Success and Excellence from BC Elementary Schools.

Perley Elementary School (Grand Forks)--Internet literacy and participation in the Canadian Heritage Interactive Journey; McGowan Park Elementary School (Kamloops)--sign language club and a "signing choir"; Twin Rivers Elementary School (Castlegar)--Russian immersion kindergarten and schoolwide bilingual program; R. L. Angus Elementary (Fort Nelson)--award-winning Web site; Craigflower Elementary (Victoria)--technology-based tutoring program for First Nations students; Cordova Bay Elementary (Saanich)--a walking "school bus" that "picks up" students walking to school for fitness and safety; Cedar Drive Elementary (Coquitlam)--energy conservation practices highlighted in a national documentary; West Vernon Elementary School--communication and conflict resolution training to address bullying; Tuc-el-Nuit Elementary School (Oliver)--volunteer tutoring of struggling readers; and Riverview Elementary (Quesnel)--award-winning principal who led school and community as they rebuilt after a school fire.
