Relevance and Quality in Australian Tourism Higher Education: Educator and Professional Views.

Survey responses from 56 tourism educators and 100 professionals indicate that one-quarter of the professionals believe the tourism major gives graduates a competitive edge. Competencies in logical thinking, social interaction, content knowledge, and generic skills were outcomes identified by both groups. Communication between academics and industry was recommended. (SK)
