This document is the first issue of an annual journal produced by the Council of Environmental Education. It was designed to monitor the health of environmental education, help build coherence, identify gaps and issues, provide an evaluative review of the field, and present developments and practices in the field. Contained in this volume are editorials, reviews of the year, six research reports, aspects and developments, reports for member organization, two case studies, opinions and reflections, two articles on educational developments affecting environmental education, international developments, and book reviews. The scope of the articles in this issue is wide, and includes global issues, international conferences, local issues and strategies, and industrial involvement. (CW)
