Watters, Kate
Adults Learning, v16 n1 p28-29 Sep 2004
In July 2004 the Adult and Community Learning Quality Support Programme (ACLQSP) reached its conclusion. The project was designed to support local education authority (LEA) providers of adult and community learning in getting to grips with the new quality assurance and improvement agenda introduced when the single Learning and Skills Sector was created. In this article, the author reports that ACL Quality Support Programme has shown that providers are making sustained and effective efforts to meet the "quality challenge" in adult and community learning. The author describes the contribution that ACL can make to the new sector, in the 21st century, and the extent LEA ACL providers have successfully risen to the "quality" challenge. The author also discusses how the ACLQSP has been effective in supporting providers.
