This article presents the current status of special education in South Korea in terms of legislation for special education, early intervention and early childhood special education, elementary and secondary education, and personnel preparation. It also discusses the need to move towards providing appropriate education in the least restrictive environment and early intervention needs. (Contains 6 references.) (CR)
