A survey comparing 80 arts administrators and 42 for-profit workers found them similar in job satisfaction, importance of personal development and compensation, and centrality of work. Arts workers placed more importance on achieving something of value to the community in their work. They were less satisfied with their pay than those in for-profit organizations. (SK)
