Part one of a 10-year study showed that international school heads remain, on average, only 2.8 years in a given position. The second part of the study analyzed why a subset of the group (83 school heads) left their positions. Reasons given included problems involving the board of directors, compensation packages, retirement issues and benefits, personal or family reasons, location, and school characteristics. (MLH)
