To determine whether prison experience is same for female and male inmates, administered Prison Preference Inventory and Prison Environmental Inventory to 71 female and 942 male inmates in medium and maximum security facilities. Findings suggest that female inmates experience lower levels of stressors on seven of eight adjustment needs measured by Prison Preference Inventory. (NB)
