A mentor program at the Rockford School of Medicine was evaluated to assess the quality of student-faculty relationships. Both groups strongly endorsed the program. Students need to put more effort into developing friendships with mentors, and physicians must broaden their focus beyond concern solely for students' academic performance. (Author/MSE)
