This manual is intended for use primarily by depository librarians in Wisconsin in order to help depository libraries comply with the state documents depository law. The manual opens with a description of the Wisconsin Document Depository Program. The history of the program is outlined, and the following general responsibilities and procedures for all types of depository libraries are listed: circulation of materials, interlibrary loan, staffing, space, outreach and promotion, organization of the collection, maintenance of the collection, shipping lists, limited distribution of materials, processing document shipments, classification and cataloging of Wisconsin documents, reference tools, acquisition, and evaluation. Special responsibilities for the different types of depository libraries are also given. Included in the appendices are examples of various forms, listings of Wisconsin Depository Program libraries, and a map of depository libraries. (JLB)
