Data on enrollment in the public schools of New York State are presented in 17 tables. Numbers of students are given by type and size of district and by level of instruction. Numbers of teachers and of paraprofessional and support staff are listed. Enrollment is specified by 12 regions, 57 counties, grade level, and state, with a separate table for the New York City schools. Ratios for professional staff are given for state, region, county, and district. Data for enrollment in Boards of Cooperative Educational Services classes are also provided. In the fall of 1990 there were 2,569,150 public school students, in the fall of 1991 there were 2,613,938 public school students, and in the fall of 1992 there were 2,658,396 public school students in New York State.
