Graduation rates and numbers of graduates for spring 1981 through 1985 are presented in seven figures and five tables along with related enrollment information. Data were provided by the Center for Education Statistics' Common Core of Data Surveys derived from administrative records in each state. The graduation rates reflect the number of public school graduates as a percentage of the corresponding ninth-grade enrollment and are adjusted for interstate migration and unclassified students. The national graduation rate for the 5 years included in the tabulations has remained quite stable, varying from a low of 69.5 percent in 1981 to a high of 70.8 percent in 1984. (MLF)
