Scheduled Salaries for Professional Personnel in Public Schools, 1986-87. Part 1 of National Survey of Salaries and Wages in Public Schools. ERS Report.
Educational Research Service, Arlington, VA.
This survey represents the first volume of a three-part report which presents the contract salaries and minimum and maximum wages for 22 professional positions scheduled for 1986-87 according to data from 1,031 responding school systems. In addition to this information, the system-by-system listing considers data such as enrollment, per pupil expenditure, the number of days on duty for each category of selected personnel, and the length of the work year. Twenty-five summary tables provide data concerning the percentile distributions, ranges, and means of the minimum and maximum salaries; a comparison of 1986-87 data with previous survey results; a comparison of scheduled salaries for various professional personnel with salaries of classroom teachers; the scheduled daily pay rates for selected positions; the number of school districts employing personnel in each position; the number of districts scheduling salaries for each position; and the number of days on duty per year. The summary data are determined by the per pupil expenditure, the geographic location, and the enrollment size of the school system. (RG)
