Prepared to help school administrators and theatre arts teachers establish and maintain a safe environment for the actors, technicians, and audience members who participate in educational theatre programs, this guide is divided into two major sections. The first section presents administrative guidelines covering recommended procedures, teacher responsibilities, theatre accessibility, field trips, and facilities and equipment. The second section, recommended for duplication and distribution to students, covers theatre safety, including general regulations, clothing and personal protective equipment, fire protection, ladders, tools and machinery, rigging, lighting, paint, silk screen painting, and makeup.
