Cuebook. State Education Collective Bargaining Laws.
Ross, Doris
The purpose of this booklet is to provide, in chart form, a comparative overview of state laws for public employee bargaining that affect one or more levels of public education personnel at one or more levels of education. A short introductory section explains provisions listed in the chart as well as other important provisions of bargaining laws. The chart contains information about each state law's provisions for coverage, employee groupings for bargaining purposes, provisions regarding middle-management personnel, agency charged with responsibility for the major administration of collective bargaining laws, scope of bargaining, impasse procedures, grievance procedures, procedures for dealing with unfair practices, open meeting provisions, specifications for form and deadlines of agreements, and other comments. Appendices contain examples of provisions in state public employee collective bargaining laws, and a glossary. (Author/JM)
