Emergency Medical Services. Final Survey Report.
Huff, Hugh; Caltagirone, Norma
In this follow-up study, an examination of the level of awareness of and knowledge about the Emergency Medical Services System in Region J of North Carolina was made to detect any changes from the earlier survey which might be due to a six-month campaign publicizing the system. To further pinpoint the channels through which the citizens of the region received this information, selected questions were added to the research instrument. The sampling methodology was similar to that of the initial survey, and, though the timing of the follow-up survey was poor (conducted in the summer months), the tabulated results are statistically compared to those from the earlier study. Further analysis discusses the significant cross-tabulations of demographic factors with responses from selected questions from the survey instrument. Appendices include the instructions to the interviewers, the survey instrument, a printout of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences for the analysis, and extensions of percentages to include the number of people in Region J.
