During the school year, 1969-70, the Indiana Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, international honorary for women in education, and the Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children (IAEYC) conducted a survey by questionnaire of the non-public preschool programs in the state of Indiana. In an effort to give direction to preschool program development, the research committees from local chapters of the sorority located non-public preschool programs in their respective communities and conducted interviews with the directors of these programs. The data found in this document based on 526 questionnaire responses, include information regarding the educational contents of existing programs, preparation of staff, number of children served, physical facilities, socioeconomic level of families served, parent participation, types of programs and sources of funding. The document includes a directory of the programs included and a copy of the Indiana Law for Licensing. (Author/AJ)
