The Administrative Team: Relationships to Internal and External Groups.
Feltner, Bill D., Ed.
This report contains the major addresses presented at the third Summer Administrative Team Leadership Conference attended by the administrative personnel of 13 senior colleges in Georgia, the Carolinas, and Alabama. The first paper, on "Pressures and Processes," deals mainly with the need to improve communication links with students. The second paper is concerned with the responsibilities of a small college in maintaining good public relations and an administration's appropriate relationship with the board of trustees of its institution. Suggestions are made on the composition and role of the board. Federal aid programs are discussed in the next paper. The sources and targets of student malaise are described in the fourth paper. Next, the Vice President of the Phelps-Stokes Fund delineates the administrative team's relationships to support and development groups. And in the last paper, a report of the major findings of a survey of faculty opinion is presented with an accompanying discussion of the implications of the views expressed for college administrators.
