The Worry List: What They Are and How to Deal with Them

In this article, four directors discuss the security challenges that keep them worried and what they do about it. Dwayne Alton describes how his school district, IT School District of Lee County, Fort Meyers, Florida, collaborated with Cisco and installed an intrusion detection system which alerts IT staff when someone creates their own access point. On the other hand, Lenny Schad's school district, Katy Independent School District, has implemented a solution from Citrix Systems Inc. for remote access to monitor and track usage. Slade James' school district, Coronado Unified School District, implemented NOD32 antivirus software from ESET. Meanwhile, Scott Gutowski's school district, IT Lyford Cay International School, uses proxy services for their 1-to-1 laptop program.
