Statistical Significance

Scope Note: 
Property of having low probability of occurrence on the basis of chance alone (in this sense, "significance" means neither "bigness" nor "importance" -- usually, the odds have to be at least 20 to 1 and preferably 100 to 1 against pure chance for significance to be claimed)
