The goals of this unit are to explore the magic, history, and development of imaging technology, clarify what X-rays and radiation are, examine the issues involved in imaging technology, understand basic anatomy, explore careers related to radiology, and promote future good health. Included in the unit are the teacher's guide, a collection of X-ray image masters, 2 posters, a videotape, and 40 activity cards. The activity cards can be used in a classroom activity or may be completed independently by individual students. A range of learning styles are reflected in the activities and many activities feature graphs and graph interpretation. Topics of student activities include ultrasound, producing X-rays, shadow pictures, magnetic resonance imaging, and measuring blood flow. (DDR)
